Trail Blazers Forward Skal Labissiere Leaves Lakers Game with Knee Injury

Labissiere left the floor in the first quarter and is out for the night.

Portland Trail Blazers forward Skal Labissiere left Portland’s contest with the Los Angeles Lakers tonight with a knee injury. Labissiere appeared to wince after jumping for a rebound at Portland’s end of the floor, then limped down the court. He intentionally fouled Lakers forward LeBron James at the 9:23 mark of the first quarter to stop play and check out. He was escorted to the locker room immediately afterwards.

The Blazers have reported that Labissiere will not return to the game.

Ironically (the cynical would say “predictably”) Labissiere had just begun to earn public praise for his play from the Blazers’ coaching staff and surrounding media. He started tonight’s game at power forward.

We will update this post as news on Labissiere’s condition comes available.
