The Utah Jazz are waiving forward Jeff Green, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Utah is waiving forward Jeff Green, league sources tell me and @Tjonesonthenba.

The news has little to do with the Portland Trail Blazers on the surface, but Portland is short a forward due to injuries to Zach Collins and Rodney Hood. They’ve also been granted a $2.9 million injured-player exception to sign a replacement for Hood. Green is on a $1.6 million, expiring contract. He fits the profile of a player the Blazers could spend their exception on.
The 6’8 forward has played a dozen seasons in the NBA. His .333 career three-point shooting percentage and his .385 clip from the field this year with the Jazz both speak against acquiring him. He attempts 55% of his shots from distance. He has filled 18.4 minutes per game for the Jazz as a reserve this season.
Would you favor the Blazers using their exception on Green? Comment below.
