The Trail Blazers are battling a litany of injuries to their big men. Jusuf Nurkic is still recovering from his broken leg. Zach Collins will miss an undetermined amount of time as he recovers from surgery on his dislocated shoulder. Pau Gasol is rehabbing from a broken foot. And Hassan Whiteside recently missed time with an injured knee.
Despite all of this, The Athletic’s Jason Quick expects the Trail Blazers to stay the course for now:
Don’t expect Blazers to sign another player in wake of Zach Collins surgery. Considering tax ramifications and what is out there, Blazers likely to be patient and wait for Pau Gasol to finish rehab. Gasol increasing work load, but no target date on return.

While we don’t know whether this is sourced or simply Quick’s educated guess on the situation, the Blazers have to be eager for another big man to be available. Currently, Skal Labissiere and Whiteside are the only active players taller than 6’8”.
There’s no word on when Gasol is set to return.
