Portland Trail Blazers center Jusuf Nurkic stated Wednesday afternoon on Twitter that he will not make his season debut prior to the end of 2019. Nurkic did say that rehab for his left leg fracture sustained last March is “going good.”

Nurkic was prompted to speak about his status after Marc Spears of ESPN hinted that the Blazer big man was possibly ahead of rehab schedule.
During the team’s media day heading into the season, President of Basketball Operations Neil Olshey said that the team would be “purposefully vague” about Nurkic’s status, not wanting to create a “Nurk Watch 2019.”
It now appears that the watch has shifted to 2020 for Nurkic’s possible return to the court this season.
