Video: Carmelo Anthony Discusses Trail Blazers, NBA Return

Carmelo Anthony, the newest Portland Trail Blazers forward, has released a video explaining his process and preparation as he returns to the NBA. The video, part of his “Melo Mondays” series, can be seen below.

Anthony discusses receiving a call from the Trail Blazers last Wednesday, then taking time to commit. He needed further time to get in game shape, as explained by his trainer, Alex Bazzell. Anthony also cites “two years” of discussion with Trail Blazers All-Star guard Damian Lillard. Anthony claims he’s had his eyes on Portland during that span, but it never worked out.

Finally, Anthony asserts that he knows what he can bring in Portland, but that it will only work if “all parties see it the same way”.
