The Portland Trail Blazers are signing veteran forward Carmelo Anthony to a non-guaranteed deal, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported Thursday night. Anthony last appeared in an NBA game in November of 2018 for the Houston Rockets.

The summer of 2017 featured various rumors and speculation about Melo ending up in Portland after he was on his way out of New York, but he was eventually dealt to Oklahoma City.

Anthony has 16 years of NBA experience. The last time he was a full-time starter came in 2017-18 with the Thunder, where he averaged 16.2 points per game in 78 starts.

Update 1: Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports says that Damian Lillard was informed about the decision to bring Anthony on.

Update 2: Wojnarowski notes that Anthony will join the Blazers on their upcoming six-game road trip.
