Recap: Blazers Beat Hawks in OT, 124-113

It wasn’t pretty, but it was a much-needed win for the Blazers.

The losing streak is over. After four consecutive losses, Portland barely pulled off a win over the Atlanta Hawks. With both teams short-handed due to injuries, neither looked all that great. It required overtime, but the Blazers eventually pulled away with a few key three-pointers.

Box Score

  • Better to win ugly than lose ugly. Nobody will want to remember this game later, but Portland got it done when it mattered. Despite the presence of Lillard and Trae Young, this was not a legendary shootout.
  • It was the Anfernee Simons show again. Simons lit up the Hawks in the third quarter, keeping the Blazers close. He has forced the defenses to stay honest, and helped keep the Blazers’ bench afloat.
  • Bazemore revenge game. In overtime, Kent put the Blazers over the top, hitting two consecutive 3-pointers to give the Blazers a 6-point lead. He said a few words to the Hawks’ bench afterward.

The Blazer get another day off, then head to Sacramento for a Tuesday night game.
