Few NBA backcourts outshine the duo of Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum. For scoring, efficiency, and camaraderie, Portland’s pair of stars perpetually rank near the top of the league.
Earlier this week Lillard sat down for a video interview with ESPN discussing his relationship with McCollum and what makes it so special. You can see the video here:
Talking about the commitment to Portland the pair has shown, Lillard says:
I think part of it is because of our relationship as friends, our partnership on the floor. We’re able to coexist because we care about each other. I want the best for him and he wants the best for me. That going along with playing for a great organization, finding a home in Portland, I think that makes it pretty simple...
Obviously we both signed up to make a lot of money, to have that commitment from the team over that amount of time. So we don’t really have a reason to look for another situation to be a part of, especially when we’re comfortable here.
Lillard also talks about young teammates Zach Collins and Anfernee Simons
, his impressions of the organization, the value of experience, and much more in the 8:00 video.
