The Trail Blazers are set to compete in a stacked Northwest Division in the fast-approaching 2019-20 regular season. Along with the Blazers, the Jazz and Nuggets have bolstered their rosters over the summer in hopes entering title contention.
Regardless of reduced importance of divisions, CBS Sports Colin Ward-Henninger ranked each division’s strength before the start of the season. Ward-Henninger placed the Northwest Division at No. 3 on the list.
The ranking pointed to the Jazz and Nuggets as the toughest contenders, with the Blazers’ proven track record cementing the Northwest’s place on the list.
The Nuggets and Jazz could both compete for the No. 1 seed in the West, the Blazers are a perennial playoff team with one of the league’s most exciting backcourts, the Thunder are better than most people realize and the Timberwolves have one of the best young players in the game. Don’t sleep on the Northwest this season.
Thanks to the migration of Paul George, Kawhi Leonard and Anthony Davis; the Pacific Division earned the No. 1 ranking.
