Despite a last-minute scratch from their starting lineup, the Portland Trail Blazers easily blew out the Utah Jazz at the Moda Center 132-105 Wednesday night (Box score). It was the result that almost nobody was expected. Here were a few key details to read while trying to acquire your 9th and 10th rebounds.

  • No Jusuf, No Problem. Nurkic was ruled out of the game due to knee soreness, but the team kept rolling. With Meyers Leonard replacing him in the starting lineup, the team went on a first-half run, and the blowout was on.
  • The Dynamic Duo Strikes. Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum were both ON tonight, hitting shots from all over the court, leaving the Jazz looking dejected on the court. They combined for 66 points and the loss of all hope for Jazz fans. Lillard was close to a triple-double, but couldn’t grab two more rebounds in the fourth before the bench came in.
  • Three-Pointers Made The Difference. Through three quarters, Portland hit 14 of their 28 attempts from downtown. Utah hit 8 of their 26. Portland led by 29 at the end of the third, and the rout was on.

What’s Next

A marathon on Netflix, Hulu, or whatever. Because the Blazers have five full days off before they play the Miami Heat Tuesday night.
