Portland Trail Blazers fans may have been exposed to the Measles as an infected person visited the Moda Center last week. CNN is reporting that an outbreak in Washington state traveled to several Portland venues, including the arena and Portland Airport.
According to the article by Faith Karimi, no Oregon residents have yet been diagnosed with the highly-contagious virus. Public health officials advise that if people are demonstrating symptoms, they should call a health care facility in advance instead of simply arriving on scene.
The article was not clear on the definition of “last week”, but Portland’s only recent home game besides last night’s contest versus the New Orleans Pelicans was a January 16th tilt against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Blazers were on the road prior to that. They played the Charlotte Hornets at home on January 11th, concluding an eight-day home stand.
Update: KATU in Portland cites Clark County Public Health officials confirming January 11th as the exposure date, between 5:30 and 11:30 PM. Here is the Clark County Public Health report.
