Portland Trail Blazers guard Seth Curry is making it clear that he wants to represent the Blazers at NBA All-Star Weekend, specifically in the 3-Point Contest. Curry is qualified (he currently leads the league in 3-point shooting at 48.7 percent), but he also wants to follow in the footsteps of his father, Dell, he told Blazers reporter Casey Holdahl:
“I’ve always wanted to ever since my dad shot in it a long time ago,” said Seth of his desire to complete in the Three-Point Contest. “And it’s in Charlotte this year, back in the hometown, so I’d love to (participate).”
Furthermore, there’s a sibling rivalry and bragging rights to win over his brother, Steph Curry:
“Steph was saying a couple years ago he’d come back into the Three-Point Contest when it got back to Charlotte,” said Seth, “so I think it would kind of be fun to have me and him in the Three-Point Shootout.”
NBA All-Star Weekend is set for Feb. 15-17 in Charlotte. You can read more from Holdahl’s piece here.
