Damian Lillard will take on the King Oct. 18 in Portland.

The Portland Trail Blazers will play host for the first game of LeBron James’ career with the Los Angeles Lakers on Oct. 18, per Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer. Portland and L.A. have been seemingly linked all summer, from the hoopla surrounding Damian-Lillard-to-the-Lakers trade rumors that sprung up, to the two teams playing each other in the NBA Summer League finals (again).

The Blazers beat L.A. last March to extend their head-to-head win streak against the Lakers to 15 games.

It was revealed Tuesday that Portland will get another marquee game, this one coming on Christmas against the Utah Jazz in Salt Lake City.

Update: TV channels and times have been released by the league for marquee games.

  • Portland will play the Lakers at 7:30 PT on Thursday, Oct. 18 in Portland on TNT.
  • Portland will play the Jazz at 7:30 PT on Christmas Day (Tuesday, Dec. 25) in Utah on ESPN.
