Looking ahead to the 2019 NBA Draft for the Portland Trail Blazers, ESPN’s Jonathan Givony has them selecting Maryland freshman power forward Jalen Smith with the No. 16 pick in his latest mock draft (ESPN+ required). Blazer’s Edge writer and draft guru Steve Dewald tweeted out his assessment of the forward:

Smith is versatile forward (7’1” wingspan & quick) that has shown glimpses of becoming a legit 3-point shooter.
Portland could do much worse than a trio Collins/Simons/Smith moving forward.
