August is summer workout time in the NBA, and a couple of Portland Trail Blazers guards are getting in their reps in New York City. Chris Brickley, billed as a “Top NBA Workout Guru” on his Instagram account has captured 2018 NBA Draft pick Anfernee Simons and star guard CJ McCollum working out with fellow NBA members Carmelo Anthony, Trae Young, Mo Bamba, and Lance Stephenson in the Blackops Basketball Pro Run.
Simons can be seen in the first two videos.
McCollum showcases his dribbling and shooting skills in this one.
If nothing else, this kind of video gives a clue as to the intensity and competition level of summer workouts. It’s not exactly full NBA competition, but even at this pace, they’d take you out 200-0.
