Free agency is still a week away, but the players in the NBA have already begun to move.

The Washington Wizards sent center Marcin Gortat to the Los Angles Clippers in exchange for guard Austin Rivers. The story was first reported by Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.com.

Gortat averaged just 8.4 points and 7.6 rebounds in his 10th NBA season, despite starting all 82 games. The 34-year old was due $13.5 million next season, the last year of a 5-year, $60 million contract signed in 2014.

Rivers averaged a career-high 15.1 points last season, his fourth with the Clippers. The 25-year old is the son of Clippers coach Doc Rivers. He has a player-option for next season worth $12.6 million.
