It’s been five years since CJ McCollum was drafted by the Portland Trail Blazers, with his ascension from the bench to starter to Most Improved Player. David Stern was commissioner when he heard his name called, but this year McCollum visited the draft to tour behind the scenes with Adam Silver (video courtesy of The Players’ Tribune):

Sights and sounds in the video include a Charlotte Hornets mascot asking for a raise for working the draft, and Silver showing the green room where he sits in-between picks.
McCollum has a great working relationship with the commissioner, whom he’s interviewed multiple times.
