With the No. 24 overall pick in the NBA Draft, the Portland Trail Blazers added IMG Academy’s Anfernee Simons. But they weren’t done there, trading with the Sacramento Kings for the rights to No. 37 overall pick Gary Trent Jr. Blazers players new and old, and even owner Paul Allen, were active on social media. Let’s check in on their draft night thoughts:

Evan Turner

Turner set the tone for the night by telling Portland’s social media handle to take “KBD,” short for Keita Bates-Diop, a forward from Turner’s alma mater, Ohio State:

And Turner, despite Diop not being selected, gave Simons a warm welcome:

Zach Collins

Officially not a rookie anymore, Collins took the time to welcome the two new rookies to the team:

One of Portland’s two newest players took no time to let Blazers fans know his excitement:

Gary Trent Jr.

Trent Jr. shared his enthusiasm over coming to Portland as well:

Paul Allen

Owner Paul Allen got in on the welcoming, too, extending his congratulations to Simons and Trent Jr.:
