Saturday afternoon Blazer5 Gaming took home their first hardware of the season by winning “The Turn” tournament, defeating CLTX Gaming 92-78. The Turn is one of three in-season tournaments in this inaugural NBA 2K League season. Blazer5 is the Portland Trail Blazers’ sponsored team in the 2K League.

This is Blazer5 Gaming’s second strong tournament showing after finishing second in the first tournament of the season, “The Opening.”

Blazer5 Gaming is off to arguably the best start in the young 2K League. They’re currently undefeated with a record of 4-0, they’ve competed in the finals in the first two in-season tournaments (winning one), and they currently have three of the Top 10 MVP candidates of the season in OneWildWalnut, MamaImDatMan and DatBoyShotz.

MamaImDatMan also took home the tournament MVP.

With the win from The Turn, Blazer5 Gaming pockets $75,600 from the $150,000 overall prize pool to be split among the team and added to their base salaries. Blazer5 Gaming resumes regular season play June 16 against 76ers GC.
