Triano joined the Blazers’ staff prior to the 2012-13 season, and parted ways with coach Terry Stotts when he joined the Suns’ staff in the summer of 2016. After an underwhelming 0-3 start to the year, Triano replaced Earl Watson as Phoenix’s head coach for the remainder of the 2017-18 season.
He will now join Borrego in his first season as the Hornets’ head coach. Borrego spent the last three seasons with the Spurs as an assistant. Borrego and his staff will be tasked with getting Charlotte’s collection of veteran players back to the postseason.
