Yawn. Blazers Sleepwalk Through 115-109 Loss To Mavericks.

Debacle in Dallas, as the Blazers laid a late Easter Egg against the Mavs, their second loss to a tanking team in one week.

Ouch. The Blazers struggled to hit shots and defend all night in Dallas, while the Mavericks brought the energy and stole a 115-109 win on their home court. Damian Lillard led the Blazers, with support from Jusuf Nurkic. CJ McCollum, Shabazz Napier, and Al-Farouq Aminu also scored in double-figures.

Here are a few non-essentials from this game.

  • Not a Third-Seed Performance. A classic “test how much of a Blazers fan you are” game, Portland mailed it in throughout, somehow struggling with both shooting and defending. Especially defending, where the Blazers just couldn’t stop the tanking Mavs from hitting shots all over the court. Avert your eyes from this highlight.
  • Disaster From Downtown. Continuing a troubling trend, the Blazers again faded from three, formerly one of their strengths. Portland hit just 10 of their 40 attempts (!), while Dallas hit 17 of 44.
  • Who’s the guy in the “Dirk Suit”? Nowitzki looked like a shell of his Hall-of-Famer self, hitting a few good shots in Dallas’ ensemble performance.
