When the Portland Trail Blazers were unceremoniously swept out of the playoffs by the New Orleans Pelicans, fans were stunned and left wanting more. We’ve got all summer to analyze what happened on the court and figure out how the team can move on from here. In the meantime, it would be a shame to forget the non-basketball stories that entertained us as well.
These stories help us connect with the players as people, not just performers. Such stories also help break up some of the monotony which can take hold during a long season. Did the players’ personalities, their community involvement or personal stories brighten your season? What were your favorite anecdotes?
Was is Damian Lillard trolling his teammates with his incredible suit?

Was it the puppy party with Jusuf Nurkic, Jake Layman and Zach Collins at Ronald McDonald House?
Was it baby watch in March as we all awaited the arrival of Damian Lillard Jr.?
My favorite off-the-court story could have been tragic but fortunately no one was seriously hurt. When a truck crashed into Evan Turner’s pool it seemed like exactly the kind of thing that only happens to Evan Turner. And he handled it exactly as we might expect: he called team photographer Bruce Ely to teach him how to use a drone to document the accident while rocking monogrammed slippers and a satin boxing robe.
There are only a few positive that you can take from a semi truck crashing into your pool: 1. The driver in the accident is going to survive! 2. I finally get to put insurance to use after paying for years and years not knowing if I’d ever need it. 3. My good buddy @bruceely taught me how to fly his drone so we can take cool pix! 4. this is the biggest one: EVERYONE SURVIVED, WE COULD’VE ALL BEEN DEAD BEFORE CHRISTMAS AND MISSED OUT ON ALL THE GIFTS!!! #godisgood
How about you, Blazers Edge readers, what were your favorite non-basketball Trail Blazer stories this season?
