When the Portland Trail Blazers were unceremoniously swept out of the playoffs by the New Orleans Pelicans, fans were stunned and left wanting more. We’ve got all summer to analyze what happened on the court and figure out how the team can move on from here. In the meantime, it would be a shame to forget the non-basketball stories that entertained us as well.
These stories help us connect with the players as people, not just performers. Such stories also help break up some of the monotony which can take hold during a long season. Did the players’ personalities, their community involvement or personal stories brighten your season? What were your favorite anecdotes?

My favorite off-the-court story could have been tragic but fortunately no one was seriously hurt. When a truck crashed into Evan Turner’s pool it seemed like exactly the kind of thing that only happens to Evan Turner. And he handled it exactly as we might expect: he called team photographer Bruce Ely to teach him how to use a drone to document the accident while rocking monogrammed slippers and a satin boxing robe.
How about you, Blazers Edge readers, what were your favorite non-basketball Trail Blazer stories this season?
