Highly-regarded Trail Blazers Assistant Coach David Vanterpool has been granted permission to interview with the Orlando Magic, who are seeking a new Head Coach. Chris Haynes of ESPN tweeted the information on Saturday night.
Orlando has been granted permission to interview Portland assistant David Vanterpool for its vacant head coach position, league sources tell ESPN.

Vanterpool has been credited with helping improve Portland’s defense during the 2017-18 season. The Blazers rose from 21st to 8th in the league in defensive efficiency over the course of the season.
