After a disheartening 119-102 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans, leaving them one loss away from being swept in their 2018 NBA Playoff series, the Portland Trail Blazers talked to the media in post-game interviews. First, Head Coach Terry Stotts sat down at the big podium to talk to the national media. The clearly-tired Stotts smiled, but had few answers to the sparse questions, leading to occasional awkward pauses.
Next up, a very quiet CJ McCollum talked to media gathered in the locker room. “They whooped our ass”, he plainly stated. He also walked through some of Portland’s plays, and how New Orleans countered.
He was followed by a pensive Damian Lillard. Like Stotts and McCollum, Lillard offered answers, but struggled with them.
Lastly, after the game, NBC Sports Northwest reporter Jason Quick gave his thoughts about the state of the team and the front office.
The Blazers get a day off in the Big Easy, and pick up the pieces Saturday afternoon, with a 2:00 pm PDT possible season-finale against the Pelicans.
