Damian Lillard has bigger things on his plate at the moment, like his Trail Blazers being down 2-0 in the NBA Playoffs to the New Orleans Pelicans, but he’s up for another accolade in his career. The NBA announced the nominees for a variety of fan-vote awards, like Block of the Year or Best Style. Lillard’s name appears in the Clutch Shot of the Year category along with Devin Booker, LeBron James, Terry Rozier and Andrew Wiggins.
Lillard’s appearance comes from his game-winner against the Los Angeles Lakers in November:
While that’s the positive, Portland also appears on the receiving end of some top plays from other categories. LeBron James is nominated for Dunk of the Year after putting Jusuf Nurkic on a poster:
And Giannis Antetokounmpo is nominated for Block of the Year after he erased Nurkic’s last-second shot in the third game of the season:
Fans are able to vote for these awards on NBA.com or on social media by using the award’s hashtag and the player’s name (ex: #ClutchShotOfTheYear Damian Lillard). The winners of each category will be announced on June 25 at the NBA Awards, broadcasted on TNT.
