While the Portland Trail Blazers are set to sign Brandon Rush to a 10-day contract, it appears he wasn’t the only target the Blazers had. Adam Zagoria of SportsNet New York has learned through the uncle of Troy Williams, who recently signed a 10-day contract with the New York Knicks, Portland had offered the forward as well:
Former Houston Rockets small forward Troy Williams has agreed to a 10-day contract with the Knicks on Monday night and is expected to join the team Wednesday, legendary AAU coach Boo Williams, Troy’s uncle, told SNY.tv.
”Yeah, he agreed to a 10-day with them,” Boo Williams said by phone. “He had four other offers [including Portland and Dallas] but he wanted to go to New York.”
The 6-foot-7 Williams was cut by the Houston Rockets after only appearing in four games with the team this season. He appeared in 30 total games last season with the Rockets and Memphis Grizzlies.
He’s spent a good chunk of his NBA career in the G-League, flashing some wicked athleticism:

Rush is expected to sign with the Blazers on Friday in order to maximize his allotted days with the team.
