In a wild game with a playoff atmosphere on ESPN, the Portland Trail Blazers held off the Golden State Warriors 123-117 to head into the All-Star Break on a high note. Damian Lillard led the Blazers with 44 points, with support from CJ McCollum (29 points) and Jusuf Nurkic (17 points, 13 rebounds). Here were a few essentials from the big win:

  • Beating the Warriors at their own game. Portland kept up with Golden State from the opening tip, running through a fast pace and going toe-to-toe with constant three-point body blows. For one night, the Warriors just couldn’t overcome the Blazers’ attack.
  • The Lillard and Durant Show. A crazy night from both players, as Durant reached 50 points, and Lillard surpassed 40.
  • No Slowing Down Jusuf. Despite being questionable for tonight’s game, Nurkic had a double-double, and capably held down the middle.
