Former Portland Trail Blazers Head Coach Rick Adleman has been nominated for the Basketball Hall of Fame, Class of 2019. The announcement came on ESPN’s The Jump, hosted by Rachel Nichols with Brian Windhorst and Byron Scott. Here’s the video of the announcement:

Adelman coached the Trail Blazers for six seasons from 1988 to 1994 after serving as an assistant coach with the Blazers for six years. He accumulated a record of 445-291, 69-36 in the playoffs. His tenure included trips to the 1990 and 1992 NBA Finals. His overall NBA coaching record included 1791 wins and 1042 losses, a .582 winning percentage.

In the video, Scott cites Aldeman as “one of the best coaches he’s ever been around” and called him “underrated”.
