Bill Simmons of The Ringer has ranked the trade value of the NBA’s top players, including both Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum of the Portland Trail Blazers. The list includes a wide range of players at different “value,” from “You Know He is a Free Agent This Summer” to the “Untouchables.” Each category also shows the potential ceiling of each individual player and the importance each individual team has of said player.
McCollum finds himself 29th on the list and in Group H, the “If You Tell Woj, I’ll Deny it to Death ... But I’m Listening.” Signed until the 2021 season, Simmons sees McCollum’s ceiling as All-NBA Third Team. McCollum shares this category just behind players such as Draymond Green and Bradley Beal.
Lillard finds himself at 14th on the list in Group D, the “True Franchise Guys.” Also signed until the 2021 season, Simmons puts Lillard’s ceiling as a Top-100 player in NBA history. He shares this category with Victor Oladipo.
