The Portland Trail Blazers enjoyed a 99-92 win over the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday night thanks to contributions from the entire team. Damian Lillard led the team in scoring, but without play from the bench, it would’ve been all for naught. Head coach Terry Stotts praised his bench in postgame comments:
“Obviously, the bench played really well tonight. It’s good to see them play well, play with confidence. They moved the ball well. They played with a lot of energy. They were the difference in the game like they were a few nights ago. It’s good to see.”
Zach Collins, in particular, drew recognition from Stotts:
“I thought his energy going after rebounds, going after loose balls, being a presence in the lane, he was just really active. He scores 10 [points], and we’ve told him, ‘you do all those things, you’ll fall into your points. It’s about your defense and energy.’”
Portland is now on a three-game win streak, with their next game Friday against the Utah Jazz.
