The Indiana Pacers have hired former WNBA and NBA2k League executive Kelly Krauskopf as Assistant GM, the first woman to do so in NBA history. Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports on the hiring.

Krauskopf will work with the Pacers’ basketball operations staff, including president of basketball operations Kevin Pritchard, general manager Chad Buchanan and assistant GM Peter Dinwiddie.

Wojnarowski quotes Pacers owner Herb Simon, who cites Krauskopf as “a true pioneer” and credits her with “a tremendous basketball mind”.

Krauskopf served as President and General Manager of the Indiana Fever for 17 years. She took over Indiana’s NBA2k team in 2017.

Pritchard and Buchanan are former Trail Blazers executives.
