Terry Stotts: Blazers ‘Haven’t Played Well’ Post-Thanksgiving

Stotts didn’t sugarcoat his team’s recent skid in postgame comments following a loss in Memphis.

Portland Trail Blazers head coach Terry Stotts once again had to answer questions about his team’s recent skid following a game the Blazers let slip away against the Memphis Grizzlies. Portland has gone just 3-8 in their last 11 games, falling short against other top Western Conference teams. In Memphis, the Blazers’ offense didn’t produce enough:

“Well after a really good first quarter, the rest three quarters were a grind. We had trouble scoring. Part of it was their defense; I thought our offense never really got on track after that first quarter.”

Then Stotts reflected on the team’s recent skid, with Thanksgiving as a marker:

Question: Terry, how would you describe how you guys have played since Thanksgiving?

“What game was Thanksgiving? After Milwaukee? We haven’t played well. We’ve had some good games, but, on the whole, we haven’t played well.”

Stotts went on to say the home games against the Los Angeles Clippers and Denver Nuggets were games the team should’ve won. Players like CJ McCollum and Jusuf Nurkic opened about the team’s frustrations following the Memphis loss as well.

Portland faces a home test against the Toronto Raptors (who might not have Kawhi Leonard) on Friday.
