Portland Trail Blazers guard Nik Stauskas left Sunday night’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves after a collision late in the third period which resulted in an injury the Blazers are terming a quad contusion (bruise). The video below shows Stauskas driving hard to the rim, appearing to make contact with ‘Wolves center Gorgui Dieng deep in the lane. Both players went down. Stauskas exited afterwards.

The Blazers announced soon afterwards that Stauskas would not return to the contest.

After the game, he said he hopes he’s ready to play Tuesday.
Nik Stauskas, who left the game with a right quad injury, said he got hit with a knee. It’s swelling but he hopes to be ready for Tuesday’s game.

Stauskas was averaging 9.3 points and 2.3 assists in 21.4 minutes per game heading into tonight’s matchup.
The Blazers host the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday night, then the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday and the Boston Celtics on Sunday.
