After a rough start to Portland’s six-game road trip, the Blazers took care of business in the Nation’s Capitol. Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum led the way in an overall team effort, which looked easy at times, despite big runs from the Wizards in the second and fourth quarters.
A few key takeaways from a fun game.
- Jusuf Nurkic beasted. Nurkic made lunch meat of the Wizards, nearly reaching a triple-double despite not focusing on scoring. He finished with 13 points, 14 rebounds, and 8 assists. And a sweet highlight that you’ll see below.
- Lillard looks just fine, thank you. Despite recent injury concerns, Lillard clearly didn’t forget Portland’s previous loss to Washington. He sliced and diced them for 40 points on 29 shots.
- The Wizards stink less when they actually care. Washington went on big runs in the second and fourth quarter, but their lethargic play in the rest of the game sank their hopes.
- Sweet ball movement galore. With the Wizards only occasionally remembering they need to play defense, the Blazers had some fun at their expense.
That ball movement from the @trailblazers!
