The NBA Rookie Survey has ranked Portland Trail Blazers guard Gary Trent Jr. among the biggest steals of the 2018 NBA Draft. The survey polls rookies themselves at the NBA Rookie Photo Shoot, asking them to tab the next Rookie of the Year, the best long-term prospect, and more. Trent Jr. finished tied for fourth in the “biggest steal” category behind Keita Bates-Diop of the Timberwolves, Michael Porter Jr. of the Nuggets, and Lonnie Walker IV of the Spurs. The Mavericks’ Jalen Brunson tied with Trent in the order.
Trent Jr. also earned a fourth-place finish as “best shooter”, behind Trae Young and Kevin Huerter of the Hawks and Svi Mykhailiuk of the Los Angeles Lakers. He got an honorable mention in the “best defender” category as well.
