League sources tell Kevin Kleps of Crain’s Cleveland that the city will host the event in 2022, one the Blazers previously had interest in.

Once again, the City of Portland and the Portland Trail Blazers are on the losing side of hosting the NBA All-Star Game. After several attempts over the years to acquire the February event, the city has lost out to Cleveland for 2022 hosting privileges, according to Kevin Kleps of Crain’s Cleveland.

The midseason exhibition, which will be held in Charlotte this season, will be hosted in Chicago and Indianapolis in the 2020 and 2021 seasons, respectively.

Back in 2017, Blazers President Chris McGowan tried to campaign for the current cycle, but Portland wasn’t picked. 2022 was the next chance Portland had. The city remains one of only four to have not hosted the event, with Sacramento, Oklahoma City and Memphis as the other cities.
