Following the Portland Trail Blazers’ 128-114 win over the Orlando Magic last night, Blazers Head Coach Terry Stotts spoke to assembled media about Damian Lillard’s incredible 41-point performance, contributions from bench players, and the smoothness of Portland’s offensive attack.
- Stotts was impressed with Portland’s offense, crediting shot selection, pace, and ball movement for their scoring prowess.
- He spoke about Lillard finding Jusuf Nurkic and how special the point guard is for being able to “flip the switch” in the second half. He described Lillard’s abilities as a combination of being able to get by defenders to the rim and shoot three-pointers.
- Stotts also expressed satisfaction with the bench trio of Evan Turner, Nik Stauskas, and Seth Curry, pointing out Turner’s ability to find his teammates in particular (something we wrote about this week).
- Stotts’ demeanor was a mix of relaxed (for him, anyway) and confident, sure signs that the season is young and the Blazers are playing well.
