The Portland Trail Blazers and Washington Wizards are often seen as mirror-like teams, both dominated by star backcourts and not known for recent playoff success. Both teams have also recently batted in overtime and have set their own kind of history, Dan Steinberg of the Washington Post points out:
According to @bball_ref, there have been just two 125-124 (OT) games in the last 58 NBA seasons. One was the Wiz at Portland in 2017. The other was the Wiz at Portland yesterday. That's kind of creepy. (Washington won both.)

What’s also of note is Markieff Morris’ involvement in these two overtime games. In 2017, Morris infamously hit a buzzer-beater while he was out of bounds, yet the shot still stood. In 2018, Morris tugged on Seth Curry’s shorts as time wound down in regulation, which he was just fined for after the fact.
Who knows what will happen when the two teams play again in D.C. on Nov. 18.
