LeBron James and Damian Lillard exchanged monster dunks, creating a moment for the ages in the opening night contest between the Portland Trail Blazers and Los Angeles Lakers. Each was apparently eager to send a message to each other and the NBA, and they likely shattered plenty of screens in the process.
The festivities opened as James picked the ball and ran away for a solo slam, his first points as a Laker.

Furniture stores across the U.S. expect a surge in couch sales in the morning, as plenty of center seats got destroyed by rear ends leaping out of them, then crashing down, only to leap again even higher.
P.S. Trail Blazers Head Coach Terry Stotts earned the Heel of the Year award for calling timeout before Lillard could crank up his next slam. How long would the sequence have lasted? We’ll never know.
