The 2018 NBA Trade Deadline is a month away and Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN says that the Portland Trail Blazers may be looking to upgrade their wing positions. In an article detailing the biggest potential storylines between now and February 8th, Wojnarowski mentions the push to acquire wing players among all franchises, and names the Blazers as particularly interested.
There are far more teams chasing wing players -- shooting guards/small forwards -- than quality talent available at those positions. Drafts have been lean on those spots in recent years, and they’re in great demand now.
Detroit, New Orleans, New York and Portland are a few of the teams most interested in upgrades, but the true list is much longer.
Wojnarowski cites NBA owners, general managers, and agents as his sources for the piece, which includes trade discussion surrounding Los Angeles Clippers center DeAndre Jordan and a list of potential sellers at the deadline, in which the Los Angeles Lakers feature prominently.
