Damian Lillard has enjoyed a fruitful relationship with Adidas as his stardom with the Portland Trail Blazers has taken off. He’s appeared in commercials for the brand with other stars, he’s got his own logo, and his signature shoe reached its fourth iteration—the Dame 4—this year. As his rep has grown, so too has the construction of his shoes. There have been mild to drastic changes in his shoes every season, a result of the star seeing what he does or doesn’t like.
The Dame 4 is the culmination of years playing in his shoe, and Lillard revealed it’s the best shoe he’s ever done. So it’s no wonder the shoes would be popular among fellow NBA players, as detailed by Zack Gallinger of Baller Shoes DB:
Tied with the Crazy Explosive is the Dame 4, the latest and most highly touted shoe from Damian Lillard and Adidas. Rookie sensation Donovan Mitchell has been wearing what are perhaps the most eye-catching pair of Dame 4s on the hardwood.
Here’s an example of Mitchell’s Dame 4 colorway:

The only signature shoes Lillard falls behind come from the likes of Kobe Bryant, Paul George and Kyrie Irving—all with the resources and history of Nike backing them up. And Lillard finishes ahead of bigger names, too:
Some notable signature models which did not crack the top 10 include LeBron James’ signature LeBron line, James Harden’s Adidas Harden Vol.1, Carmelo Anthony’s Jordan Melo M13 and Chris Paul’s Jordan CP3.X.
