The Westgate Las Vegas Super Book released their NBA win total over/unders on Tuesday. They put the Portland Trail Blazers at 42.5 wins according to a tweet by manager Jeff Sherman:

Por 42.5
Sac 28.5
SA 54.5
Tor 48.5
Utah 40.5
Was 47.5
The Blazers finished last season with 41 wins, falling below their pre-season over/under of 46.5. Super Book’s win totals put Portland at 8th in the Western Conference just behind the LA Clippers (43.5) and ahead of the Utah Jazz (40.5).
Here is the complete list of the Super Book win totals sorted in order by conference according to Sherman’s tweets:

- GS 67.5
- Hou 55.5
- SA 54.5
- OKC 51.5
- Min 48.5
- Den 45.5
- LAC 43.5

- Utah 40.5

Perhaps most surprising is the Philadelphia 76ers’ number of 42.5, which would put them as the 7th seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs. However, the Vegas win totals are not necessarily a reflection of how teams are projected to do. Instead, they are designed to get an equal amount of betting on either side. Teams that receive more hype often have inflated win totals.
Earlier this month ESPN’s Kevin Pelton projected Portland to win 43.8 games, although that win total in his prediction has the Blazers falling out of the playoffs as the 10-seed.
What do you think? Is 42.5 a fair line? Would you take the over or the under?
