The Trail Blazers’ Evan Turner frustrated fans in his first season in Portland, missing almost three-fourths of his shots from downtown. And with the departure of sharpshooter Allen Crabbe, the Blazers need every spot-up shooter they can get. Thursday night, Turner posted multiple videos to his Instagram account, giving everyone a glimpse of his summer practice.
Turner, a career .298 three-point shooter, shot .263 in Portland last season, and .241 the season prior in Boston. He averaged 9.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game with the Blazers, moving in and out of the starting unit until breaking his hand in February. He returned for the Blazers’ late season run, but struggled with multiple hand braces. He increased his averages to 10.3 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists in a four-game series loss to the Golden State Warriors.
