NBA2k18 ratings news is rolling out across the internet, an annual rite of summer for the popular video game franchise. As Forbes.com reports, Portland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard received his rating on Monday at a commercial shoot for the game and it’s slightly lower than last season.

...told he was an 89 overall, [Lillard] seemed pleased because he thought it was higher than last year's mark. However, in the last official ratings update for NBA 2K17, Lillard was at 90.

Lillard tweeted about the rating today in response to a fan suggesting it was a slight:

Lillard’s 89 ties him with Celtics guard Isaiah Thomas for the fourth-highest rating released so far. The pair trail Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving, who earned a 90, plus Thunder small forward Paul George and Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns, both with 91.

76’ers center Joel Embiid holds an 86 rating and Nets (former Lakers) guard D’Angelo Russell an 80.

NBA2k ratings evolve through the NBA season. Lillard’s NBA2k17 score started at 89 before rising to 90 by season’s end.
