Zach Collins was just starting to look comfortable on the floor after a frustrating start to his Summer League campaign when a right quad injury forced him to the bench in his third game. He tallied four points and four rebounds in 11 minutes of action. Although Collins was in pain and had a noticeable limp, the injury does not appear serious and he expects to play in the Trail Blazers’ next contest.
Collins: "I think I'll be ready for the next game, for sure"Posted by Blazer's Edge on Tuesday, July 11, 2017
Key quote:
“I don’t know if I got hit or pulled something or what. I don’t really know what it is yet, I just know it hurts. Probably last game it got hit, but I’ve been doing treatment since that game, all day yesterday, and maybe some today. It just still doesn’t feel right, so we’ll just have to keep doing it.”
In his absence, teammate Caleb Swanigan took the helm at center for stretches, putting together another quality performance. The opportunities for Collins to impress at Summer League are narrowing, but we should get another look at him when the upcoming tournament begins.
