Meyers Leonard Gets Honest in Radio Interview

Leonard responds to Twitter haters and naysayers during an interview with John Canzano

The Portland Trail Blazers’ selection of Zach Collins and Caleb Swanigan in last week’s NBA Draft put the current crop of big men on notice. Fans were quick to peg Meyers Leonard as the odd man out in a now crowded frontcourt.

In a radio interview with The Oregonian’s John Canzano, Leonard spoke about his critics on social media.

"People in general, that's just the way it is. You look at someone who is a die-hard football fan. Their quarterback is clearly unbelievable because he plays in the NFL and he's a starter for 10 years, but they'll say, 'He's terrible!'

He also spoke about avoiding external voices and improving in the offseason.

“Honestly I haven't really been on my social media all that much mostly because I want to spend all my time working out and getting better, and when I'm not, I want to give my attention to my wife.”

Do you think the Trail Blazers will need to make a trade to shore up the frontcourt? If so, who should they look to move? Let us know in the comments.
