The eighth-seed Portland Trail Blazers will face the first-seed Golden State Warriors in the first round of the 2017 NBA Western Conference Playoffs. Games 1 and 2 will be played in Oakland, and Games 3 and 4 in Portland. Venues will alternate for Games 5-7 as necessary. This is a rematch from last season’s second round series, which featured Oakland native Damian Lillard against NBA MVP Stephen Curry. The Warriors won that series 4-1, and have added former NBA MVP Kevin Durant to their loaded team over the summer.
Games broadcast on ABC (such as Game 1) are exclusive. All other games will also be shown locally on KGW 8. These will be the final games aired on KGW after a long-standing relationship with the Blazers; next season CSN NW is the exclusive local broadcaster.
The Blazers and Warriors will tip off Sunday afternoon at 12:30 (Pacific Time). They’ll rest until Wednesday in Oakland, then pick up the series for Game 3 in Portland next Saturday.
Tickets for Games 3 and 4 go on sale in Portland Thursday.
