Blazers Game Postponed Due to Condensation

Court conditions have forced postponement of the Timberwolves game.

NBA: Portland Trail Blazers at Minnesota Timberwolves Brad Rempel-USA TODAY Sports

UPDATE (4:59 p.m.): The game has been postponed

The Portland Trail Blazers’ March 6 matchup with the Minnesota Timberwolves may be in jeopardy due to condensation in the Target Center. The court is too slick for players to safely perform as the scheduled 5:00 p.m. tip-off approaches.

Trail Blazers digital content specialist Cody Sharrett speculates that the ice remaining under the court from Friday’s Disney On Ice event is the cause of the problem.

While attendants attempt to fix court conditions, Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard states that the court is not presently playable.

The players have now been asked to leave the court as the Timberwolves prepare a briefing.

Official word should come around 4:45 p.m. As of now, Minnesota Vice President of Communications Brad Ruiter states that they plan to play the game.
