While the Portland Trail Blazers figuratively got their teeth knocked out by the Toronto Raptors on Sunday afternoon, center Jusuf Nurkic had a more literal experience.
Halfway through the fourth quarter, Nurkic took a forearm from Toronto forward P.J. Tucker while battling for a rebound. The force of the blow knocked two crowns loose, which Nurkic calmly handed to athletic trainer Geoff Clark before remaining in the game.
Tucker was assessed a technical foul for the contact. Trail Blazers digital reporter Casey Holdahl reports that the crowns have since been repaired. Although painful, the injury can be considered minor and his status is unlikely to be affected going forward.
