Larry Sanders’ apparent return to the NBA won’t involve him suiting up in a Trail Blazers uniform anytime soon. According to Jason Quick of CSNNW, the former Bucks big man will not be visiting Portland.
Trail Blazers are NOT one of teams interested in Larry Sanders, according to agent. Too close to tax line to take on any type of salary.

After meeting with the Celtics last week, Sanders and his agent are rumored to have meetings with at least three other teams, but that list won’t include the Trail Blazers. Portland’s salary situation will likely have to be sorted out before even a minor move can be made, and those changes likely won’t come until the offseason.
Sanders, who hasn’t played since the 2014-15 season, was once considered one of the premier rim protectors in the league. After parting ways with the Bucks due to personal and disciplinary reasons, he entertained the idea of returning to the NBA at various points. The hiring of an agent and the scheduling of visits are new additions over his previous efforts, which gives this attempted return a little more traction.
With Portland out of the mix, it appears that President of Basketball Operations Neil Olshey will have to look elsewhere to help bolster the Trail Blazers’ defense.
